Dear CAGTC Members,
The US Department of Transportation is now soliciting applications for the BUILD (formerly TIGER) discretionary grant program. Appropriators provided $1 billion for the FY2020 round of funding, to be divided evenly between projects located in urban and rural areas. At least $15 million will be awarded for planning grants. Applications are due May 18, 2020.
For projects located in urban areas, grants can be no smaller than $5 million and no larger than $25 million. In rural areas, grants can be no smaller than $1 million. There is no minimum award size on planning grants. No more than 10 percent of total project funds can be awarded to projects in a single state.
